Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

From Isabel

This is my 11-year old daughter, Florentina, dressed like Willy Wonka. She wore this costume in summer, when she participated in a children's carnival where she was awarded first prize for acting. She intends to wear it on Halloween as well.

From Faye

This is my costume. I actually had most of it already. I borrowed the jacket, though, and bought the hat and cane. This was for a kids club party based on CATCF. Our team was the Greens - hence the board behind me!

From Mllefoo

Willy Wonka, of course. Need I say more?

From Donna

I dressed up for work and for the tricker-treaters. Everyone loved my outfit, complete with bob wig and a real top hat too! I'd love to dress in costumes EVERYDAY! Did you have fun... I DID! Toodley-too!

The Corpse Bride

From Aimee

This is my Corpse Bride costume this year. I found a wedding dress at a thrift store, and the train was perfect. The top wasn't quite right, so I found a corset and added lace to it, which wasn't as easy as I thought. My friend Angie made the wreath for the veil and helped me cut up the bottom of the dress while I added the slit. My friends helped to make me and my hair blue. It's hard to tell, but I had white panty hose for the skeleton leg, and my other arm was covered with white clown makeup. The costume was a lot of fun to make and wear, but I wasn't prepared for all the heads that turned because I was blue!

From Heather

Here's my entry for this year! This costume was a project that began in August. My grandma gave me a dress that resembled a toga with a ruffly bib attached. I bought fabric and sewed the dress myself - the dress was nothing like it had been. The top turned out much better than the bottom. I also made the veil, and sewed some fake purple flowers shut so that they looked dead. I dyed my hair blue, but we ran out of dye about halfway through my thick hair. I tried to get my skin to look blue and not Smurf-like. I made some great fingerless gloves, but lost them the day before Halloween, so made some quick ones with leftover scraps. Since I didn't want to scare away trick-or-treaters, I held off on making the ribs and exposed bone. I had a lot of fun, and tied for first at a costume contest I went to.

Edward Scissorhands

From Ian

I've always wanted to do Edward and it was important that the hands were right. They actually open and close!!! It was done with Darth Vader and Freddy gloves and a bunch of plastic swords and knives. Ian from New York.

From Rob

Here's a pic of me in an Eddie costume.

From Deborah

I wore this to Club M in Laguna Beach for their Halloween party! I had a great time, and everyone loved it!

Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas

From John

This is my Raoul Duke costume.

Pirates of the Caribbean

From thelittletwin

This is me as Captain Jack Sparrow. My best friend made the clothing (except the sash, which I made), and I did all of the detail work. The bone in the wig is made of Sculpy clay, and I bought a dress up kit that had the compass. I distressed it, though, since it looked too new. It also had the metal coin and dangly thing, I just made it look more silver by painting it.

From Andy

This is my second year as Jack Sparrow. I put so much time into the costume last year, it seemed a shame not to use it again. It gets a lot of compliments and most of my friends didn't even recognize me.

From Aaron H.

This has got to be one of the hardest costumes that I had to do. It's period so I couldn't really mess around with it too much. The makeup and putting the facial hair extensions were probably the most difficult part of the process. It was a search of 6 months to wrangle all the pieces together to get a cohesive costume. The character was just as fun as being Wonka.

From Donny

This is me as Jack Sparrow for Halloween this year.

From Carey (Gitsie666)

Here is my costume for this year. I'm Captain Jack Sparrow, savvy?

From PiratePrincess

Pirate!

From David

This is my Jack Sparrow costume. David Ruiz of Denver.

From SparrowImposter

This is my boyfriend Erik as Captain Jack for Halloween. He is also a professional Johnny Depp impersonator, so it was only natural he'd be the captain for Halloween!

From Sean

This is me as Jack Sparrow. I made the costume from things I found at the thrift store. I'm 22 from Chicago, and I spent a total of about a month and a half on the costume doing little bits at a time. As you can see, I had fun with it.

From Jessica

That is me and Captain Jack running away from the cannibals.

From Susan

This is how I channeled my inner Captain Jack. The costume is entirely homemade.

From Wendy

Here's me as CJS, with one of me older sisters dressed as a wench.

From Chris

I didn't have the $3,000 to buy my costume from the crooks on ebay (especially the guy who actually thinks he is Depp) so I spent under $50 and put a lot of blood, sweat, and BEESWAX into it. A very fun costume, and the excitement it brings to kids is very rewarding. Chris Hernandez

From Kirsten

I'm Kirsten, I'm 16 and I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada. I have been working on this costume since summer. I just really want to dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow because I think it's really fun. I spent at around $150 dollars for the whole outfit. I made the beads, the boots, the coat and the white shirt undernearth, and the vest.

From Carol

My 13 year old daughter Sarah has been planning this costume since July. She did her own makeup and also carved her own pumpkin which she had many compliments on. She had a lot of fun with both.

From AJ

I spent over five months working on this costume. I made all the buckles myself in cold cast brass, made the hat from tooling leather, along with the belts. I sewed two wigs together, made accurate beads in both size and color, made the compass an exact match for the screen used one, and sewed everything from the drop-front breeches to the frock coat all by me onesies, savvy?

From Nashoba

Here are some pictures of our 5 year old son, Skyler, as Captain Jack Sparrow, Halloween 2006. He loved being Captain Jack and won several contests this year! He is a devoted Captain Jack fan, wants to be the next Johnny Depp!

From Copacetic

This is my husband as Captain Jack Sparrow. We went to the last film in the Summer Movie Festival series here in Owensboro. The film was POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl, and it was shown on a 40' screen right by the river. The weather was wonderful and my husband got lots of attention for his costume! Yes, that's his real beard.

From Danette

Here is my 11 year old daughter, Tiara, dressed as her favorite Johnny Depp character...Cpt. Jack Sparrow. She just loves him and his movies. When I was a teeneager, I was also a huge fan, so it's nice to see her being a fan too! We both are fans now! I bought the pants, vest, and blouse from Goodwill. I changed the buttons on the vest and made a few alterations. The long belt I bought from the fabric store and tore it to shreds. She has curly hair, so the bandana pieces blended really well with her own hair. I gave her dark circles under her eyes.

From David F.

Stumbled across your web site this morning, and thought you might enjoy seeing a few pics of my costume as Jack Sparrow this year. Each piece was a close to the screen worn as I could get it, and I started assembling it back in August of this year. Don't ask how much everything cost. lol.

From Missy

This is Missy (ElusiveMiss on the board) as "Captain Jacqueline Sparrow." I wanted to make the costume more feminine, so I used a corset rather than a vest, and the shirt was more open with Jack's tattoo... placed a bit differently. I took a lot of time with my scarf and trinkets and viola!

From Will

My name is Will, and this was my Jack Sparrow costume for Halloween.
