The Pirate Portrait Puzzle

There’s been some confusion (mostly my own) over this portrait of Keith Richards as a pirate, but hopefully it’s sorted out now. LOL

This one is the original, the one with the really cool frame from 1988 that was displayed in Richards’ home and was reportedly the inspiration for Captain Jack Sparrow:

The second one (below) which is featured on the Artisan Gallery web site is a later portrait done by the same artist.

Now that that’s sorted out, I’d still like to see him do one of Captain Jack so they can hang side by side in some freaky pirate art gallery.
