The Daily Record reports the British bestseller “Shadowmancer” by The Rev. Graham Taylor has been optioned by Universal Pictures, and producers are working to cast Johnny Depp in the lead role. “The scripts are with Johnny right now,” says the author. “We’re hoping he’ll love the story and really want to be a part of it.” Depp would play Obadiah Demurral, a wicked sorcerer who vows to take over the world in the fantasy movie, due to start shooting next year.
