- Metro.co.uk reports the Depp family enjoyed a stroll at the River Thames this past weekend. There are paparazzi pictures floating around, but I won't post them here, nor does the Metro link use them with the article. It's just nice to know they're out and about.
- In a strangely related item, BloggerNews has a brief article about Orlando Bloom and a conversation he once had with Johnny Depp: “I was talking to Johnny on the set one time. I said, ‘Can you believe they pay you this much money to do a job you love?’ And he said, ‘Privacy becomes really expensive.’ It’s true.”
- Newsweek has ranked Johnny Depp as the second most powerful actor in Hollywood this year. Will Smith took the Number 1 spot with a worldwide career box office of $4.4 billion.

How old was Will Smith when Johnny started paying his dues in this profession? Oh, please, remember Johnny doesn't do it for the $$,its the character and the story that matter to him! Johnny is more influential in other ways than just money anyway. Don't get me wrong, I like Will Smith as a person,his acting is growing,but Johnny is the role model. By the way, Happy 20th Anniversary "21 Jumpstreet" show, actors, and all. I still love to watch my DVDS of it.
I always think Johnny should be #1. You know, "actor of his generation," "sexiest man alive," "best father," etc. But, wow, #2 for a guy who doesn't play their games, he is doing ok. I'm not sure I completely understand the comment he made to Orlando. Can someone explain it to me? I mean I know how much he values his privacy, but I don't understand how his salary and privacy need go together.
He doesn't act for the money, he's above that! It doesn't matter how many awards he has won, we know that he's THE BEST and we love him!
Ahh... I respect that he hates paprazzi, but I want to see him!!!

The comment he made to OB was in reference to literally having to buy freedom when you reach a certain level of fame. Why do you think he purchased the island.. far away from everyone
I saw the papparazzi photos on another Johnny site. There were none of the kids, only one of Vanessa. Johnny looks really relaxed and is smiling and talking with the many others in his group. He looks really good. Wearing a knit cap - to cover the ST hair I guess. To explain the expensive privacy quote, you'll notice a very good looking older man with gray hair in many of the out and about photos of Johnny - I believe it's his body guard. Just one of many expenses like that, I guess.
Thanks for not posting the papparazzi pictures-- I'm sure the kids were with them, and Johnny doesn't want his kids' pictures taken. I love it that you honor that. That's why this is the best Depp site on the web!
I think Will Smith a good actor,but Johnny Depp is better and to me he will always be #1.That is why I love Johnny Depp because he doesn't do it for $$,doesn't play their games, and he said his fans keep him employed and his fans are his bosses.Happy Anniversary "21 JumpStreet". I got all of the seasons and I enjoyed them.
Definitely agreed with jan -- this site is great because it has lots of great news and photos, but it respects his wishes & him as a person in general, ya know? :)
"Always a bridesmaid, never a bride!" It still aggravates me that the Academy overlooked his fantastic performance in The Libertine. One of these days!!
FYI:If you click onto www.ohjohnny.net and click on the news box, there are a couple pictures of the Depps walking in London. One of which shows Johnny walking with Jack and Vanessa, and Lily-Rose walking ahead with the nanny. Looks like she made a complete recovery, thank God. Also out of respect to Johnny, the kids faces have been blurred out.
It is such good news to hear about Johnny and his wonderful little family out having a good time. Even though I would so enjoy seeing them I congratulate Metro.co.uk for not publishing the pictures. They deserve some privacy especially after what they have been through.
Yes, I am sure it costs him plenty financally for some privacy. Not only for bodyguards but things we can't even imagine.
Thanks Trish for not bringing the paparazzi-pictures. If more people were like you, Johnny wouldn't have had to buy a whole island to keep his privacy. - Maybe he would have done it anyway... but still!

I've heard, that The Libertine got out too late, so it didn't make it in time for the nomination. That might be the reason, why Johnny didn't get nominated this year. He was fantastic in that film. He deserves an oscar if any!!!
I've seen both the articles and the photos; in any case, I'm delighted to see that Lily-Rose is up and about again, and doesn't appear in any significant discomfort (you can always tell, from a young child's face). Maybe praying from around the world really does work...8-)
In the pictures I've seen (the one on the boat), I'm wondering if the older, gray-haired man is Johnny's dad and the red-haired woman is his wife (not Johnny's mom). The man kind of resembles Johnny. I love Johnny's look (without the facial hair) here. Other pictures I've seen in the past of Johnny with a very good-looking gray-haired gentleman (no facial hair) I think are of his driver. Look at the one from when Johnny was leaving Cipriani and one of the pictures of Johnny leaving the benefit concert for Sheila Witkin in Pompano Beach. Sorry, I don't have the links. I think this is the Buck Holland always credited in Johnny's films - correct me if I'm wrong.
I am not sure, which pictures, you are talking about, but Vanessa (Johnnys wife) is BLOND, and I don't think, Johnny has any contact with his father. His stepfather perhaps, but not his real father.
