From the Premiere
If you were following the premiere threads on the message board yesterday, you know there were some tales of disappointment at Disneyland last night. It's obviously impossible to get to everyone, though, and it's difficult from a single vantage point to know how things were going for the rest of the crowd.
It seems fans near the front of the red carpet fared a little better than the ones toward the end. This report came from Poune at the message board:

Weeeell.. When he came over I gave him my P album to sign, and he said:Congratulations, Poune! Hopefully we'll see more like this one come through in the next day or two. But in the meantime, here are a few more pics from the premiere.

And I answered in French: Yes, and I came frome Quebec by bus to see you...
He said that he was honored or something, I can't remember, I was so excited I was shaking...
I asked him for a picture with him and he said "oui, bien sur" but Gerry didn't want to... But I did get at least a smile from Johnny!
He was really looking great tonight!
We had a little chat with Orlando, he's so sweet, we got to meet almost all the Pirates cast like Jack Davenport, Lee Arenberg (he wrote Ello Poppet to me), Bill Nighy, I have a picture with Chow Yun Fat (he's amazing)
I just thought everybody had a good time.

Thanks for the updates ... sorry for Spomo's bad luck. It sounds like Disney made it really tough for Johnny and Co. to be as fan accessible this year. I wanted to let you know that Getty Images has some new pics of the premiere up that I hadn't seen yet on the site ... some ARE of Johnny signing, looks like on the red carpet ... and there are some other REALLY good ones. Hopefully someone will know how to get the watermarks off:) Thanks to you (and to Ash last night) for all the updates
Oh My God! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PICS! I'm so glad he didn't wear a hat this time. It covers up so much. His hair looks real soft. I'd love to run my fingers thru it! Not to mention his outfit. I always loved the way he dresses. Doesn't matter what he wears. He's always gorgeous. He is totally himself! Not phoney in any way, shape, or form. KUDOS JOHNNY!!
everyone else wears a suit or a nice dress, then theres Johnny. he's just so individual!!
I am sooo jealous! but thanks for keeping the site up-to-date, so we could atleast PRETEND we were there- i was going to go but my flight from atlanta got cancelled. i am only 13, and i saved up about 500 dollars so my mom and i could go....... we would have been staying in a little hole in the wall motel, and we would only be in the the HUGE crowd, but atleast we would have been there. i cried- it was awful, it still is. I hope everyone had a great time! i would have killed to go. and thanks again for all the pics and the newsboards.

I am so lucky to have been able to meet Johnny @ POTC3 premiere!
I got to give him a kiss and he hugged me! AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
I wasn't able to get a photo w/ him I was too nervous! Nor did I get to give him the gifts I had.
I am going to mail them in a couple of weeks.

From the time ho got there 6:30pm(I think) until I left approximately 8:15pm, I sw him signing autographs, giving ugs and taking photos w/ fans.
Even when the ropes went down he was still signing. He took a break after he got in our area. Then he went back out. He was taken off again, about 5 mins before I left. Alot of folks left, then he came back out and signe dmore autographs!
He is like a machine almost, he just kept going and going. He was so sweet and so generous and very calm.
When he got to me~
He smiled and I showed him my hand (I wrote Johnny Hug Me PLZ!) He sort of laughed but a bit puzzled and said oh ok, and shook my finger. HA! I said, No, read it. So I help it to him. And he said "Oh Ok." He bent over and gave me a hug as he signed an autograph. He then hugged me a little tighter. Just as Iwas getting shewed away by the guards I gave him a peck on the neck! I tried for his cheek, but I couldn't get it. He smiled and me and walked along.
As he was signing autographs he smiled and was so wonderful. I was standing right in front. Other people were handing out there stuff for him to sign right above my head. (I am just under 5ft) Just ast someone handed out a photo for him to sign he said "Oh watch yourself baby." Now, I am not sure if he was talking to me, BUT when it happened I did have to duck me head! So I will pretend he said that to me HA!!
All in all Johnny was great!!
TrIsh what a wonderful job you do..i did feel sorry for all the fans at the prem..but the films are so big...what would we have said if the security wasnt so high,that fans or the stars were hurt...ie fans pushing fowards or a terriost attack...what would we have said if johnny had been hurt or shot, or even killed...with the high fame comes very high risk...not everyone loves johnny or the others as we do...we are only too aware what does happen..this hasnt gone away...dont blame the film or Disney...this is the biggest blockbuster film to them...they only wanted to safeguard all the stars....IT DOES LOOK AS IF THE STARS WERE NOT HAPPY..but all went safetly..and i am sure thats what we all want for them...GOD BLESS..JO..UK..
To misscaptainweird. Oh my god you are so lucky. I am in england and we didnt get a premier this time but when we do and i manage to get there i dream of something like that happening. Only half a week to go till AWE finally arrives. Am counting the hours.

Well...it happened finally ....for the first time ever!...I saw Johnny Depp in real life!!!! He was straight in front of me on the Red Carpet Event at the Disneyland this past Saturday. My heart was in my throat as he came towards my area...he stopped and stood with both his arms at his sides. Fans around me were pushing and screaming at decibles...instead of screaming like them, I was mouthing the wordsto him: "I Love You"....I thought he was looking at me...and then this happened...within an instant after I expressed my feelings to him through mouthing I Love You to him and outstretching my arms towards him...he suddenly crossed each arm, one at a time, over his chest. He just had to have been looking at me..I really mean it...the timing was within seconds...but security was moving him though towards the place of the premiere and I lost him quickly in a massive crowd...let's say, my emotions got a hold of me...and I had tears streaming down my face as he left me. Why I would have to fall for someone so famous?...I am single, age with him, love not only his looks, but his character and for who he is. It is like he is me, but in a male body! So much alike HA!!!!!! However, he is way more talented than I am or ever will be in this life! What a guy to say the least! -Linda in Los Angeles, CA
WOW! I'm realy a bit jealous, but I'm feel more happy for you! You're such lucky girls! I hope... dream that someday I'll meet him, but I'm still thinking that it's just "too impossible". I live in a small country in the Balkans named Bulgaria (it's in the middle of nowhere)!
However, the pictures are so cool, Johnny is lovely, awesome, gorgeous... as always. I'm happy that he didn't wear a hat, it covers up his beautiful face!
And, Trish, I realy want to thank you for keeping the site up-to-date! I don't know what I'm going to do without you! :)

I am glad, you finally got to meet him - or see him..., but I am sorry for all the pain, it causes you, to be so near and yet so far.
Dear, sweet Linda; you are not the first woman on this planet, who falls in love with a married man - famous or not famous. Many of us have tried that, and I remember, how hard that was.
But if you love him - and I KNOW that you do - then you should only want, what is best for him; and as things turned out - his family is the best for him. Vanessa and the kids! God only knows, where he would be without them. Vanessa was at the right place at the right time for him. Neither you or I were; Vanessa was.
I am sure, there is a reason, that Vanessa is ment to be his wife we are ment to love him from a distance and he is ment to sweeten our life - there is a reason! and the only way to kill the pain, is to accept that, - and to pray for the wisdom to find that reason one day.

Iam from Canada, And I have never been to a movie premiere. But coming here, seeing these pics of Johnny Depp up close is almost like being there myself.
Looks like all had a great time, wish I was there myself.
Great Pics, and he looks gorgeous as usual, gotta love those shades he's wearing 8) I like the fact that he dresses so casually like he does.
