Change in Upcoming Film Order
wodkaplus on the message board noticed today that Imdb.com has changed the order in which Johnny Depp's upcoming films are supposed to be released. They formerly had Shantaram listed before The Rum Diary, but now they show The Rum Diary scheduled first.
- Sweeney Todd (post-production) 2007
- The Rum Diary (pre-production) 2008
- Shantaram (pre-production) 2008

what about the news that Johnny was being considered to play Queen singer Freddy Mercury? I read that Brian May was all for it, so was I, I think he would be phenomenal as Freddy, what ever happened to that, was is just a rumor???
LOL! You're welcome. :) The last I heard about the Freddie Mercury movie was that it was all still in the planning stages, and no decisions had been made on anything yet. I know Brian May said he thought Johnny would do justice to Freddie Mercury *if* he did it, but that they hadn't really gotten to that stage of the project yet.

I'm just bummed that "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" seems to have been axed -- I read the book, and I think that would be quite a movie. I was sure that was his Oscar. :(

I always like to come here and read some news about Johnny.
PS: I had read somewhere that Freddy Mercury's role will play "Borat" Sacha Baron Cohen.
But there is an issue about script for this film, witch suppose to be not so strong.
For Rose -- they actually did go ahead with the movie for "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly", they just had to do it without Johnny. :( It was presented at Cannes this year. Here's a link, if you want to check it out:

Ive also read that sacha "Borat" will be freddie mercury. Such a shame i thought johnny would have been terrific. The project i keep hoping to hear news on is johnny as micheal hutchins, the thought of johnny as micheal makes me seriously drool!!!
I'm still hoping for a continuation of his OUATIM character, Agent Sands. There's still time, I think. But I suppose "Sin City" is fine, if he can't play Sands again. I've been dying for another Robert Rodriguez + Johnny Depp collaboration. I think the character Robert is considering Johnny for in Sin City, Wallace. It would be something different for Johnny; an all-out ACTION roll. He'd have to bulk up.
Is anyone else getting really desperate for definate news on what film johnny is making next. I keep reading stuff about what other actors are filming or about to film but nothing about johnny. Guess im just an impatient fan of the devine mr depp lol.
