Johnny's Specs Appeal
Times Online reports Johnny Depp made the list of celebrities whom kids say make it "cool" to wear eyeglasses. The poll, commissioned by the College of Optometrists, reflects the opinions of kids aged 7 to 16. Harry Potter took the top spot on the list, followed by Johnny Depp, Ugly Betty, Elton John, Gandhi and Einstein.

I can believe that...i kinda want some glasses like is ;)
It is funny... I think that no body, besides Johnny, could wear these thick framed eyeglas, and still look so hot.I´d had some eyeglasses like Johnnys once (back in the eighties) and i was ugly. Now i wear contactlinses. But sure, kids should wear glasses, and be cool.
bless! Johnny Depp... (a man who broke the rules of hollywood, and made it ALL on his own and hes beautiful ^^)..is now a role model for insecure bespectacled kids!!

Are his glasses prescription?
I don't think, they are prescription. If they were, he would wear them always - and he doesn't..
I think, he wears them as a kind of mask. He is kind of shy, and he often wears glasses, when he has to be with a lot of people.
Personally I think that it's just his thing, but that doesn't mean glasses are right for everyone. Only he could still look awesome in those kind of glasses. :D
funny the other day I was wondering if he needed glasses because he wears them in Secret Window as well - I have always loved glasses - now I love them more - Val, NJ
Yeah, well Johnny Depp is the only person on that list that I think could make glasses cool. Everyone else on that list shouldn't be compared with him, in my opinion...
