I don't know how they do what they do with color, but it's fantastic. A whole new world.

fits the mood he was in at the time. Remember his daughter was very sick. I do not see sexy in it. I see pain. Sorry.
i was thinking the same thing about this fitting his mood. i do not see sexy either. his emotions will probably play well in this movie.
I think the picture is dark because the movie and its theme are dark. i realize you mean the quality of the photo is too dark, but truly, if that is the lighting on the set, I don't think you will get it any other way. It is definitely showing the trademarks of a Tim Burton film ... dark and creepy! I know that's Johnny, but that doesn't even look like his profile, do you think?
The set is typical Tim. Johnny looks absorbed into Tim most likely making sure what he wants from this scene. 180 degree turn remember from being "witty Jack". We may see the emotional kickback that Johnny was going thru with Lily-Rose being ill, considering Benjamin Barkers' family had been severely affected by what had happened to him so wrongly. It will definitely all work out swimmingly!! Can't wait to being truck-rolled over by Johnnys' character performance!!!
I see pain and sadness too, but when he was worried about his daughter, he was by her side at the hospital. He didn't return to the set before she was recovering again.
Our Johnny is however a brilliant actor.
When I saw "the Libertine", I really thought, he was depressed and that something had gone terribly wrong in his life.. I'm a psychologist, and I know, how people look, when they are depressed..
- He wasn't depressed; he was ACTING. I saw that later at the bonus-material - to my great relief!
He has fooled me a lot of times!(and there is nobody, I'd rather be fooled by).
I don't think, it is REAL pain, we see....
He is acting!
Of course he is acting. He is an actor and quite an accomplished one at that. I do feel that actors get their inspiration from moments in their own personal life, and perhaps he is channelling in on pain or suffering from Lily Rose or some other. That is what makes him so good.
I don't know that is it pain that I am seeing as much as a very solemness. No humor, no nicety, just very somber. I am sure he was in character and doesn't come in and out while on set.

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp is a great team!
Johnny must have drawn on his experiences in the hospital with Lily-Rose to get the emotions he needed to play the part.
He still manages to look sexy even when he's looking mean & angry.

i zoomed in on the picture...and im not sure if its just me or not...but it looks like Johnny is wearing fake teeth. His manly chin looks a little bit weak if u know what i mean!!! I hope he isnt cuz his teeth are so GORGEOUS...and his eyes, and hair, and lips........
