Johnny Naked in D.C.

NBC4.com reports a new Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is opening in Washington D.C. October 5 with an opening gala scheduled the night before. The figures for the museum have arrived naked, and artists are working around the clock to finish and clothe them for the event.
EDIT: I was able to get this screenshot from a video story about the opening. Looks like the figure in Washington D.C. will be Johnny and not Jack Sparrow. Thanks to Emily for the video link!

Many figures, such as Thomas Jefferson and Johnny Depp, have full heads of human hair, inserted strand-by-strand into the wax sculpture.It's unclear from the article whether the figure is of Johnny himself or Captain Jack Sparrow as in the other Madame Tussauds museums.

Man! Who wouldnt want a johnny depp sculpture?!Of course, nothing can ever be, or look,or smell as good as the real thing! Thats preety cool tho, Thank you Trish!
I was disappointed with the 'Captain Jack Sparrow' waxwork in London. They had the bandana way too high up his head - a common mistake with a lot of lookalikes. I still had a picture took with it though, it's the nearest I'll ever get to him.

When I was in London almost 3 years ago there wasn't any sculptures of Johnny Depp.(

I'm probably going to get shouted down for saying this, but Johnny's naked bod doesn't do much for me. He has a slim, model figure that looks amazing in all kinds of clothing (even women's).It's the presentation that does it for me, whether he's being Jack Sparrow, John Wilmot, Willy Wonka or dressed in his own gear relaxing, interviewing or playing guitar on stage. He carries his garments very well, moves in an attractive way and this is enhanced by his enegmatic character and his beautiful face.

I guess I just like the skinny, arty, anemic types rather than the phony blown-up-in-a-gym Brad Pitt kind. I think our perceptions of what a man really looks like have been just as warped by the media as our perceptions of what women should look like. Anyway, Johnny fits my idea of perfect, real as the day he was born.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say but you said it better. It's his mannerisms, the way he moves, his shyness and what goes on inside of him that appeals to me so much. I'd much rather watch him swooshing around in a cloak than gork at him in his birthday suite. That leaves little to the imagintion. Sorry, this is a grandma's perspective.
If I have the sculpture I'll put Johnny in my bedroom with the rest of him and I think it will look good too.
Now how spooky lookin is that, Johnny Depp's head n shoulders..LOL I wonder if he thinks thats kinda spooky like he thought of his Jack Sparrow in the barrel at disneyland..lol. Seeing himself like thats gotta be kinda weird to him. Wish I could go see it, looks like the real deal there...cept for the fact the rest of the body is not there.

im so glad he isnt a tom cruise or pitt clone - personally, i dont find anthing about muscle attractive. johnny has a sweet sensitive soul deeper than brad pitts wallet. his mind his intelligence and the kind of awkward shyness he carries with him so gracefully. He is beyond perfection in ever sense of the word..its un-human.
on the topic of his body.. again its another realm of his perfection. not too skinny, but not bulked up. he has kept the same shape since his shirltess 'teen idol' cover days.

Physicality is one thing. Wax figure of Johnny doesn't even begin to describe the reason to luv the dude!Personality,talent,style,intelligence,(you know the old saying,what's in the mind&heart of a man,(at least to me), makes them attractive than the shape&size. Johnny is a winner all around, maybe someday he'll run for President,umh, nah!
Johnny Depp, Keira, and Orlando all took time off while filming 'Dead Man's Chest' to sit for the sculpters at London Tussards. So it won't have been there almost three years ago. The Keira one looks nothing like her. The Orlando one is more life like than the real thing and has since been replaced by Keith Richards. The Keith one is excellent.
It's not the "package" that makes the man anyway. Johnny's a beautiful soul and it's ALL good!!!

To anonymous who thought you were going to shouted down no problem, he neither shinny or muscle bound, he's is just Johnny.You are allowed an opinion, and I think that is great. I do perfer clothes on any man, be honest. We like the hair the eyes and the whole face thing. He is beauitful as far as a man goes.

I personally find Johnny's eyes his most attractive feature. He has such expression in those eyes. His eyes and expression are what makes him sexy to me.

I sculpted a Johnny Depp portrait bust in clay, made a mold of it, and am casting them. I put bas reliefs on it, things from his life and film career. You can see it in my pictures on MySpace, I my user name is "frozenimage3"
Phew *Wipes Forehead* I Looked at that picture and freaked!!!! It looks so real, i thought it was the real head. I would never go see that, it would be too painful, to see my hero, but not have it move or talk. But it would be so cool if johnny himself posed as the statue, as a prank to passing fans, and Pop!! he would move as they walk bye. haha that would be great it if was me
