Co-Star Shares Meeting Tale
In an interview for The Event Guide, Jayne Wisener, the actress who portrays Johanna in Sweeney Todd, talks about meeting Johnny Depp for the first time.
What was it like, meeting Mr. Depp, one of your idols?
The first day I met him was quite late on, and I built myself up for it so much, because, obviously, I’ve been in love with him my whole life. Haven’t we all? The day I saw him for the first time though, I was dressed as a boy. I didn’t even have a nice dress, or anything like that. I was literally hiding from the guy, and then Coleen Atwood, the dress designer, brought me over to Johnny, and said, ‘You haven’t met Jayne yet, she plays your daughter’. And he said, ‘Hi, I’m Johnny, it’s lovely to meet you’. And I said something that wasn’t actually English.

Awww! That is so sweet. What a nice story! Thanks, Trish. :-)
I would stand there and say is this for real or I'm dreaming.I would love to see him in person and spend a day with him.
Knowing me, I would probably spout something like.."Hello, Jack..glad you meet you Capt.Sparrow"
LOL!!
I know EXACTLY how she feels! AAAHHHH!! But I guess that tends to happen you are looking true beauty right in the face. :O)~
Awww. thats so sweet. I probably wouldnt be able to say anything, english or otherwise!!
PS HAPPY NEW YEAR Trish and everyone xx
i thought it was cool he is my fav actor so i probley would try to say something it would not be english either!lol i would be like omg mfavactor (faint) oh and i agree with crystal
idk i think if he was standing right in fromt of me,i would cry, faint, choke out some meaningless jiberish, tell him how huge of a fan i was....and by that time he would be scared, and on the verge of calling security.
i would want to stay cool, and down to earth, but still wanted him to know how much i supported him, ya no? so really how do you make a good iimpression on a man whos signed hundreds of autographs and met thousands of fans?
Goodness, I would faint dead away...the paramedics would have to come rescue me! HA! What a trip that would be to come face to face with Johnny...the idol of idols. Love him so...Linda in Los Angeles, CA USA
If I met Johnny, I am afraid, I would say something incredibly stupid...
But I think, he would be gentleman enough to pretend, he didn't hear it.
'cause that's just the way he is!
He is such a gentleman!
Haha not English! I would probably be making up my own sign language on the spot, having forgotten how to speak period. I'm sure he'd understand it, though...
I would like to meet Johnny and play guitar and sing. That would be totally cool. I could bring my grandson he is as big a Depp fan as I am. Lucky for me I live here in Wisconsin and have 5 weeks vacation. Look out Depp, here we come.
