Towns Excited Over 'Enemies'
Residents of several midwest towns are excited over the prospect of the Johnny Depp film Public Enemies being filmed on location.
According to The Northwestern, downtown businesses in Oshkosh, WI, are already being briefed on potential changes to building facades and business routes to accommodate shooting schedules in March or April.
The Beacon News is reporting Michael Mann and associates scouted Aurora, IL, to check out authentic locations such as the historic Paramount Theatre. According to the article, Aurora mayor Tom Weisner sees only one drawback:

Mayor Tom Weisner echoed her excitement, saying that he is glad to see the painstakingly preserved theater appreciated by Hollywood. The Paramount would be historically accurate to the time of the film -- it opened in September 1931.
"This would be really cool," the mayor said. "My only concern would be keeping my wife 400 feet from Johnny Depp."

I wish I was in that town.To be there while Johnny is acting. My imagemation goes wild just think about if I was in that town.It seems the mayor goin to have a hard time keeping his wife away from Johnny.
I'm waiting for the movie that will be filmed on the East Coast. Even to be able to watch from afar......
Please keep the public informed of any extras needed for the production of Public Enemies. I know I would make the time, and would love to be a part of it.

Where do I go to sign up????? I can play a l930s floozy just as good as the next woman. I would flap my flappers or shake my shakers or do just about anything to be in a film with Johnny. Tooo much FUN!!!!!!
It seems Wisconsin is all ready going to be building sets for the movie to shoot there. Did they pick that site already? Plus, I heard they already set up shop in Chicago. I live in Aurora, and the mayor is only excited about this because it brings revenue to our city.:)He is on the outs with many here about other stuff. Anyway, will I finally be able to see Johnny? Maybe, I can't let myself get too excited. It may not happen.

Public Enemies is filming in Columbus WI today (3/17)as I type. My wife and I looked at the filming location last night and took about 30 photos. They have streets closed off for 2-4 blocks each direction from the intersection of W. James st and N. Ludington St. That section of town has an old Bank building that will be use in a robbery scene as well as others.

Not a huge Depp fan, but I thought I would let you know that my family an I live in Columbus,Wi and have spent the last 2 evenings watching them film "Public Enemies" on the streets of our downtown.
People are flocking to our little berg just to get a glimps of him. Its pretty cool.
I live just outside of Columbus WI and got to watch most of the filming being done here.It was so exciting!Got great pictures of everything including Johnny Depp!It was probably the most excitement this town has every seen!
Just to let you know: Public Enemies starts filming in Oshkosh,Wis today (mostly outdoors).Unfortunately,there were 40-50 mph wind gusts and today, a severe snowstorm.
Up in northern Wis, the Universal crew has been readying the Little Bohemia Lodge in Manitowish Waters for filming for the past 2 weeks. If the Oshkosh shoot finishes on schedule, then filming here will commence on April 21st.
